Student Success Is the Target at Harris School

Business School’s Linwood Campus Director Promotes Career-focused Education

Linwood, NJ. In a director’s office buzzing with phone calls, appointments, and a constant stream of e-mails, it may be hard to keep your head on straight. But Peter Karas (pictured), campus director of the Linwood campus of the Harris School of Business, knows how to keep focused on a mission.

“Our number one goal is to help Harris students succeed,” says Mr. Karas, an educator with experience in both primary and adult education. “Helping students succeed in their new careers is the reason we are here.”

Launching successful careers is what Harris School of Business is all about. As one of the Delaware Valley’s accredited business schools, Harris offers a number of programs in the fields of business and allied health. At the Linwood campus, students may choose to enroll in medical assistant programs, massage therapy courses, pharmacy technician classes, or medical billing training.

What makes a Harris education so special? “At the Linwood campus—and at all Harris campuses—we provide career-focused training,” Mr. Karas explains. Career-focused training means that the curriculum is solely focused on the career skills that graduates need to succeed in the workforce.

“Career-focused education is the future of post-secondary training and education,” Mr. Karas continues, “Our programs provide accelerated student-centered training that meets the needs of today’s workforce and is more affordable than other types of post-secondary education.”

As the campus director, Mr. Karas is responsible for overseeing all the programming, staffing, and student services at the Linwood campus. “My major function is to support the great staff and faculty that I have around me and ensure that the learning environment is conducive to student success,” he explains.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Mr. Karas has worked as both a teacher and an administrator. He encourages adults to think about obtaining a post-secondary education. “If you think it’s time for a better life and a better career, it may be time to commit to changing your life through education,” says Mr. Karas, “And career-focused education is one of the fastest and most effective ways to get started on the path to a new career.”
