Dental Assistant Resume Sample

What to emphasize on your resume

A resume is your chance to give a prospective employer a snap-shot view of your skills and experience. The employer will want to see that your experience matches the job position that is being advertised.

For this reason, be sure that your resume emphasizes the skills that are being asked for in the job ad, using the same terminology that the employer uses. (However, never claim to have a skill that you don’t have just to match the job ad. Always be truthful. If you don’t have a skill that the job ad is asking for, that’s okay, just leave it out.)

You should also emphasize your internship/externship experience under your job experience. Be sure to list that it was an unpaid internship/externship, so as not to mislead the employer, but definitely include it! The internship/externship is actual on-the-job experience that really counts! See the sample resume below for some ideas on getting started.
