It doesn’t take professional medical assistant students long to build their confidence
To someone who has never done it before, administering a shot or drawing a patient’s blood can sound scary. But guided by the instructors at Harris School of Business, students in the Professional Medical Assistant program soon find the courage and the confidence to handle these skills.
Take a look at our picture gallery of students in the Professional Medical Assistant program at our Voorhees campus. In these pictures, students are administering injections by practicing on artificial limbs, as well as oranges!
Students in the Professional Medical Assistant program learn a wide array of clinical skills. The curriculum covers such topics as:
- Medical terminology
- Anatomy and physiology
- Procedures for caring for patients
- Procedures common in medical offices
- Safety procedures
- Clinical skills such as administering injections and taking vital signs
- Communications and computer skills
In addition to the Professional Medical Assistant Plus program, the Voorhees campus also offers four other healthcare-related career-focused programs: Health Claims Specialist Plus (medical billing training), Dental Assistant, Multi-Skilled Health Technician, and Surgical Technology.
