Dover, DE. The Dover campus of the Harris School of Business is proud to announce that local pharmacist Zahir Kasmani has joined its Advisory Board. Kasmani is the pharmacist and owner of the newly-opened Dover Community Pharmacy.
Harris School is honored to be working with Kasmani, who is also participating in the school’s externship program. “One of our students, Jordan Colombo, has been serving as an extern at the Dover Community Pharmacy,” explains Shaun Waller, Career Services Coordinator at the Dover campus of the Harris School. “Mr. Kasmani is so pleased with Jordan’s job performance that he is ready to hire a second Harris student.”
In addition to hiring externs from Harris School, Kasmani has offered a generous program to Harris students. For students who do not have health insurance, Kasmani has offered a discount prescription program. The Dover Community Pharmacy also plans to offer free prescription delivery and payment plans to its customers.
In late March, the Dover Community Pharmacy held a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Colombo, as well as Dover City Councilman David L. Anderson. With the opening of his pharmacy on Governors Avenue, Kasmani joins a small but growing group of independently owned and operated pharmacies in Delaware. According to the National Community Pharmacists Foundation, only 19 of 149 drugstores in Delaware are independently owned and operated.
As an advisor to the Harris School, Kasmani will help the school with the direction of its programming. Harris School of Business has a tradition of providing career-focused education to adults in the fields of allied health and business management. The Dover campus offers a medical assistant program, medical billing courses for health claims specialist training, surgical technologist training, and a massage therapy program.
As one of the region’s accredited business schools, Harris School of Business operates seven campuses in the Delaware Valley. Some of the program offerings at the other campuses include dental assistant training, technology training in the legal and accounting fields, and training programs for those interested in becoming a pharmacy technician or a health technician.
