Harris Students Join Bone Marrow Registry

Upper Darby, PA. The Upper Darby campus of the Harris School of Business is committed to helping others. This February, over 50 students and faculty signed up for the National Marrow Donor Program. Joining a bone marrow registry is the first step in becoming a bone marrow donor. Bone marrow transplants require a genetic match between the donor and patient. The Registry tests and keeps track of its members’ HLA tissue type. With this genetic information, the registry can match patients with potential donors. Bone marrow transplants can help treat over 50 diseases including leukemia, sickle cell anemia, severe combined immune deficiency, and aplastic anemia. In April, Harris students reached out again. Dover Pharmacist Joins Harris School’s Advisory Board

Dover, DE. The Dover campus of the Harris School of Business is proud to announce that local pharmacist Zahir Kasmani has joined its Advisory Board. Kasmani is the pharmacist and owner of the newly-opened Dover Community Pharmacy. Harris School is honored to be working with Kasmani, who is also participating in the school’s externship program. “One of our students, Jordan Colombo, has been serving as an extern at the Dover Community Pharmacy,” explains Shaun Waller, Career Services Coordinator at the Dover campus of the Harris School. “Mr. Kasmani is so pleased with Jordan’s job performance that he is ready to hire a second Harris student.” In addition to hiring externs from Harris School, Kasmani has offered a generous program to Harris students.
