About the Region

Wilmington is often referred to as the "Corporate Capital of the World." Over half of the Fortune 500 companies call Wilmington their corporate home, positioning the city as the financial, governmental, and corporate hub of both the state and region.

Thanks to the state’s liberal tax structure, numerous corporations and financial institutions relocated to Wilmington. The city is ideally located, close to Philadelphia and New York City to the north, and Baltimore and Washington, DC, to the south.
