About the Region

Linwood is a suburban community in Atlantic County, New Jersey. The city is located some nine miles west of Atlantic City. Adjacent communities include Northfield, Egg Harbor Township, and Somers Point.

Primarily a residential community, Linwood offers its residents access to nearby locales, including Atlantic City, that provide employment in professional services, health care, and local government. The Linwood Convalescent Center, one of the largest facilities of its type in the state, is another major contributor to the city's economy.

The city is renown for its flowers, including locally grown African violets and orchids, and the Linwood Arboretum, Hartshorne Park, the SJI Park, and the Krumm Farm Vineyard.

The Linwood park system comprises some 36 acres, in addition to a bicycle path system that includes nearly 33 acres.  Residents and visitors have access to many recreational and athletic facilities, including baseball, softball, football and soccer fields, a hockey and basketball court, and playgrounds.
