Danbury Region

In the scenic New England region, the city of Danbury is located in Western Connecticut, just 70 miles from New York City. Danbury is known for its vibrant arts and culture, parks and recreation, as well as a diverse local economy.

Did you know that in the early 1900’s, almost 25% of the hats made in America were manufactured in Danbury? For this reason, the city earned its nickname, Hat City. The hat industry has declined over the years as styles have changed and the economy has shifted, but the nickname remains.
