Q #1: What do massage therapists do?

A: Massage therapists work with their hands to massage and reduce tension in different body parts of patients and clients. They will ask clientele their symptoms and medical histories. They use a variety of massage techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, and Thai massage to relieve tension and pain in various body parts. You will communicate with patients before and during the massage techniques to see if they feel good on their tense or painful areas. Some masseuses also provide clients with education on stretching, strengthening, and relaxing their muscles and posture.

Q #2: How long does the program take?

A: The massage therapy training programs at the Harris School are shorter than many other programs. If you take daytime classes, you can finish the program in less than seven months. Nighttime courses will let you finish the program in just over a year. The program overall requires 750 hours of coursework.

A: Applying to the massage therapy training programs at the Harris School is straightforward. You’re required to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent to enroll. You can complete an application during your admissions review. Harris School offers open enrollments, so you can apply at any time during the year. New classes start frequently, so you get started on your education quickly!

Q #4: Are night classes offered?

A: Night courses are offered for the massage therapy training program. Attending evening courses means it will take you a little longer to complete your program because it’s part-time. You can complete the night courses in just over a year. Night classes are suggested for students who work during the day. Both the day and night classes offer the same curriculum.

A: The Harris School of Business helps support and prepare our students as they go through training and then as they search for jobs. A: All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to see if they can get financial assistance. Our Financial aid team can assist you with the application process and find other payment options for tuition.
